Let our clients do the talking

How quickly can live-in care be arranged?
This is dependent on the outcome of your care assessment and the availability of suitably experienced carers. In most cases, we can usually implement care in as little as 48 hours.
What training will the carer have?
We have a detailed recruitment process that enables us to only recruit the very best carers. Candidates are screened against our unique values framework and sit a pioneering situational judgement test ahead of a final interview. If successful, applicants then complete a five-day induction programme, including modules such as first aid, moving and handling, medication and health conditions. All carers are required to complete a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
How much does live-in care cost?
Costs are based on the level of care required by the clients and are different for everyone. An estimated cost can be given following an initial conversation with a client services adviser, but that cost can only be confirmed once a free care assessment has been completed with you by a care manager. Funding options may be available to you depending on your personal circumstances.
What happens when my carer has time off or goes on holiday?
At The Good Care Group, we prioritise consistency and continuity of care. To ensure carer well-being and a high-quality service, we assign teams of two carers on a rota pattern. A typical rota pattern is two weeks with one carer then two weeks with the next, however we offer flexible schedules to meet your requirements, including four week shifts with two weeks off. As a fully managed service, we have a rapid response and relief team of highly trained professional carers who can come to support you during your carer’s holidays and for longer periods of leave, ensuring uninterrupted care.
Why is it important that my live-in care provider is CQC-regulated?
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the regulatory body in England that inspects and monitors care providers across the UK. A CQC-regulated service offers peace of mind and reassurance as to the quality offered by a care provider. Our ‘Outstanding’ rating in all five areas in England and our ‘Excellent’ in Scotland assures you we are exceeding standards in the quality of care we provide.
I have dementia, how can live-in care help me?
At The Good Care Group, we know receiving care in the comfort, safety and familiarity of your own home has far reaching benefits in improving overall health and well-being for a person living with dementia. All our professional carers receive training in dementia care before they care and support someone with the condition. Working closely with Dementia UK, our carers and our families are supported by our own dedicated Specialist Consultant Admiral Nurse, Dr Jane Pritchard, who ensures people are able to live well with the symptoms dementia presents.
What do I need to provide my live-in care?
All that is required is a spare room for the carer to have their own space during breaks and to sleep, with a TV for their relaxation and internet access so they are able to complete the records required to manage your care. Your live-in carer will cook your daily meals and eat the same food, with you if you wish. The carer will need to have a two-hour break in any 24-hour period, which many clients usually find works best when they are resting in the afternoon. If you require care and support during this period many will have family visits to cover this break, or we can organise for an hourly care provider to cover this for you.

Why has the CQC rated us so highly?

Our exceptional quality of care has earned us an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in all five measures in England, which include safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. We are one of less than 3% of home care providers to receive this rating which gives you peace of mind when placing your trust in us.

Proactive care

We take proactive stapes to prevent hospitalisations. Using urinalysis kits to rule out UTIs, our clients are 2.5x less likely to be hospitalised.

Respecting clients wishes

83% of our clients enabled to pass away peacefully at home in line with their preference, compared to 19% of 75+ population.

Comprehensive care plans

Clients are far less likely to experience hospitalisations due to incidents with our care, and the rate of hospital discharge is increased.

How we achieve this

I had confidence that The Good Care Group would find a good carer match for mum. Unlike some care agencies, The Good Care Group visit a potential client to assess needs and tries hard to find a good match the first time round. We were so lucky that a carer was allocated to mum’s care. She was kind, caring, experienced and had so many interests in common with mum.
